Copying Settings

Copying Settings lets you quickly clone objects or bulk apply settings to other objects.

Cloning Objects with the Copy Section feature

Some features have a Copy Section option to create a clone of the object you’re working on, which can be saved to the current account or to another account in your agency.

The Copy Section option can be used to clone the following features:

  • Access Control Groups
  • Call Queues
  • Call Scripts
  • FormReactors
  • Keyword Spotting
  • Lambdas
  • Notifications
  • Schedules
  • Smart Routers
  • Teams
  • Tracking Sources
  • Triggers
  • Voice Menus

Using Copy Section

  • Open any of the object types listed above.
  • In the General section at the top of the page, find the Copy Section button next to the Save Changes button.

  • Click Copy Section, then select this account or another account.
    • You can only copy objects to one other account at a time.  If you need to copy this object to multiple other accounts, you must repeat this process for each account.  You may wish to save this object as a preset to save time when you create new accounts in the future.
  • On the next page, review the settings to make sure everything you’re copying looks correct.

  • Click Save Changes.

Overwriting Settings with Copy Section

The Copy Section option allows you to apply the settings for the section you edit to another object of the same type in your account.  Copy Section copies only one section of settings to other objects.  If you wish to copy more sections of an object, you will need to repeat this action for each section on the page, or you may wish to use Copy Section to clone the object instead, if possible.  The Copy Section option will overwrite the existing settings of your selected objects.

Tip: You can use the version history of each individual object to undo the changes made with the Copy Section

The Copy Section option can be used to copy settings for the following features:

  • Call Queues
  • Call Settings
  • Tracking Numbers
  • Receiving Numbers
  • Tracking Sources

Using Copy Section

This is what it will look like when copying a section of a Tracking Number to another Tracking Number.

  1. Open any object types listed above and click or scroll to the settings section you wish to copy.
  2. Click Copy Section (found next to the Save Changes button).

  • In the pop-up that appears, select the objects where you wish to copy this section.
    • Remember, only the single section you have selected will be applied to the selected objects (such as the No Answer section of a call queue).
    • The settings will overwrite the section of settings on the object you select.
    • The entire section you have selected will be applied.  
  •  
  • Click Copy Selected Elements.
  • Click on the number(s) in the left column to move them to the right column to copy fields to.

  • A confirmation will appear.  Click Ok.

This feature can look a little bit different when using it to copy a section of a different object, such as Caller ID in Call Settings. When clicking Copy Section for the the Caller ID section, you will see check the check boxes below.
